As a child evolves, so must the type of parenting. The same is true for us as a society. As the average social maturity evolves we must adapt the type of governing system we use.

A big turning point will occur when the average maturity is ready for consciousness.

For parenting and governance to be appropriate they must take into account the maturity level of those governed. We can err on the side of assuming too much maturity or on the side of not assuming enough. When we can evaluate maturity we no longer need to assume, and can provide parenting and governance as needed.
